ARTISTIC
Creation
.
The student defines the artistic development to be carried out, which may be related to areas or lines defined by the school or the program.
During Degree Project I, the student must elaborate a work plan describing the stages of the project to be carried out. The document is submitted as part of the course.
Degree Project II involves the execution of the approved work plan. The student will create his/her artistic work, present a final report and make a public presentation, evaluated by the graders of the Degree Project Committee.
MASTER AND
Doctorate Course
.
At the time of enrolling in Degree Project I, the student must identify the research problem he/she wishes to study in depth through the master’s or doctoral program in which he/she will carry out his/her Degree Project. They must also determine the subjects to be taken during this process.
To access this modality, they must meet requirements such as having a cumulative weighted average of at least 3.7 and submit two academic reference letters to the Graduate Programs Advisory Committee.
They can only enroll and pass courses in master’s and doctoral programs of the Universidad Industrial de Santander or universities with which there is an agreement. The allocation of places is based on the highest weighted average, and it is important to note that students in this modality are not considered graduate students.
Once the student has enrolled in this modality, he/she must send a written communication to the Degree Project Committee, informing the selected master’s or doctoral program and the courses to be taken.
The student must take a total of two subjects of the selected master’s or doctoral program during the periods of Degree Work I and II, with a limit of two academic periods to complete them.
When the student obtains his or her undergraduate degree, he or she may continue in the master’s or doctoral program at the Universidad Industrial de Santander where he or she took courses. To do so, he/she must participate in a selection process according to the procedures established in the General Graduate Regulations. In addition, your undergraduate work in this modality will be taken into account when evaluating your academic record. If you are admitted, you may request the homologation of the subjects already taken and approved in your Degree Work.
The single grade in this modality will be reflected in the student’s academic record as the grade corresponding to the Degree Project II. If the student has chosen this modality and has taken master’s degree courses, the grade will be calculated as the weighted average of the courses completed during each academic period.
BUSSINES
Start-up
.
The student must develop a work plan under the guidance of the director of the degree project, following the guidelines established by the Vice Rector’s Office for Research and Extension for this modality.
The director of the internship may be a university professor or a professional with experience in project management or business creation. His/her designation must be approved by the Degree Project Committee.
During the Degree Project II, the Work Plan previously approved by the Degree Project Committee is executed.
RESEARCH
Internship
.
The student must select a research group at the end of the first two weeks of classes, following the guidelines of the School Council. He/she must establish a first contact and confirm the availability of the research group to accept the internship and define his/her involvement, either in the formulation of a research protocol or making a specific contribution to an ongoing project. The school director must approve the selected research group.
Once the student is accepted for the internship, this collaboration is formalized through a written communication from the research group. This communication details the commitments and ensures that the student will have access to consultation, advice and follow-up sessions with the director of the graduate work. In addition, a tutor from the Research Group is designated to guide the student during the internship, and the student is responsible for managing the fulfillment of these formalities.
During Degree Work I, the student identifies the project to be formulated or the contribution to be made in the research project. Then, he/she prepares a work plan that includes the necessary resources and the consideration for the participation in the Research Group.
During the Degree Project II, the work plan approved by both the Degree Project Committee and the Research Group is executed. The student agrees a weekly schedule of activities with the director of the research group, equivalent to full time.
The student must be enrolled at the University and comply with the institutional regulations. Misconduct committed in the company or entity will be sanctioned according to university regulations, in addition to the internal sanctions of the company or entity.
TEACHING
Practice
.
At the end of the second week of classes, the student must select the subject in which he/she will develop his/her classroom project, with the approval of the director of the school in which the course is enrolled.
During Degree Work I, the student must develop his/her classroom project, which may include the creation of virtual learning objects related to ICT. CEDEDUIS can provide pedagogical and methodological support. The classroom project is presented to the Degree Project Committee for evaluation.
In Degree Project II, the student executes the classroom project approved by the Degree Project Committee.
BUSINESS
Practice
.
The student must select a company for his/her internship within the first two weeks of classes. If he/she is unable to do so, a discussion will be held with the school director to consider an extension of the deadline.
Once the company is accepted, the internship will be formalized through an agreement defined by the University’s Legal Advisor. A tutor in the firm, approved by the Degree Work Committee, will be appointed to guide the student.
During Degree Work I, the student must get to know the company and find problems that can be addressed during the internship. He/she must develop a detailed work plan, including the necessary resources.
During Degree Work II, the work plan approved by the Degree Work Committee and the company will be carried out. The student will agree on a full-time equivalent weekly work schedule to carry out his/her project or research in the business context.
The student must be enrolled in the university and comply with the regulations of the institution. Misconduct in the company will be sanctioned according to the university’s and the company’s internal rules.
RESEARCH
Seminar.
The student, with the guidance of the director, chooses the problem to be investigated, which may be related to the thematic areas defined by the School for Degree Works.
During Degree Project I, the student creates a work plan that includes topics, subtopics, bibliography, scheduling of sessions and assignment of responsibilities.
In Degree Paper II, the execution of the work plan approved in Degree Paper I is carried out. The results of the research and the discussions of each session are recorded in a synthesis document that is evaluated and graded.
