Social Wellness

The purpose is to offer the Student Community information, education and counseling on Sexually Transmitted Infections, in order to promote healthy sexual behavior, increase awareness of the social problem, increase understanding of the real vulnerability of young people to these situations and promote the use of condoms to reduce the incidence of these diseases.

The activities carried out in this program are:

• Educational activities for the promotion of sexual and reproductive health.
• Casino against AIDS, playing to win life (education, counseling and serological testing).
• Gocebakano.

The purpose is to offer women, men and couples of childbearing age information, education and counseling on the use of contraceptive methods appropriate to their needs and preferences, with the objective of promoting healthy sexual behavior and avoiding unplanned and unwanted pregnancies. It includes the following activities:

• Personalized and group education on fertility control methods.
• Educational activities for the promotion of sexual and reproductive health.
• Walk of “responsibility” (planning methods).
• Gocebakano.
• Wellness to School.

The purpose is to provide timely, adequate and comprehensive care at the first level of complexity to the student or pregnant couple, in order to monitor the evolution of gestation, detect early complications and guide treatment, perform educational interventions for new constructions of motherhood and fatherhood.

Performs the following activities:

• Educational interventions for new constructions of motherhood and fatherhood.
• Periodic monitoring by health professionals of the gestation process.

This refers to the inclusion program for students with disabilities – PIESD, which now includes all populations under special protection, such as individuals with disabilities, Indigenous communities, the LGBTQ+ community, victims of armed conflict, and victims of forced displacement. This program focuses on supporting and integrating students into the academic environment by breaking down access barriers and reducing social inequality.

Estrategia antes conocida como el profesor UIS como facilitador de la salud y el bienestar de los estudiantes, con su actualización permite el dinamismo y recordación a los y las docentes para que conozcan los programas y servicios de bienestar estudiantil, se conviertan en agentes protectores y deriven a esta unidad los y las estudiantes que requieran nuestro acompañamiento y apoyo para promover su bienestar y así su adaptación a la vida universitaria, mejoramiento y permanencia académica.

Service that serves refreshments, lunches, snacks and other related requirements for special events organized by the academic and administrative departments of the UIS or by third parties inside or outside the University.
